DAY 1: - Harihar, Karnataka.

Comments: Open only for guests of employees in the Grasim Industries. We got this accommodation through a family friend of ours who is working in the Grasim Industries. If you get a chance, do stay here. It is situated right on the bank of river Thungabadra. A very decent place with a very decent dining hall for the guests, serving really good food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

DAY 2: - Pune, Maharashtra.

Rate: Rs. 3,500 per double bed AC room. A bit pricey. But you can get it for much cheaper rates if you book in advance.

Comments: Very decent and neat hotel. The staff are kind of stiff faced though. Luckily you don’t see them anywhere other than the lobby. The rooms are super neat with an amazing view of the city outside. Much easier to locate as it is right on the highway. For travellers going towards Mumbai I’d highly recommend this hotel. But do book in advance. Restaurant attached. Price includes a free buffet breakfast.

DAY 3: - Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Comments: Open only for Doctors and guests of Doctors who are members of the Indian Medical Association. Decent air-conditioned rooms with geysers in the bathroom. Ample car parking space within the building compound. Prime location within the city. No dining facility. The only down side for travellers on the way to Udaipur is, you have to go into the Ahmedabad city.

DAY 4: Ajmer, Rajasthan.

Comments: A neat hotel. Okay for the price. Car parking available for 2 or 3 cars at the max. Food can be ordered from the room and it was not bad.

DAY 5: - Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Rate: Rs. 1,100 per double bed AC room.

Comments: Very decent and spacious rooms with sit out. The room that we stayed in had 2 sit outs J. The price initially quoted was Rs.1,800 per room. But after some haggling, the price was finally reduced to Rs.1,100. Food can be ordered from room. We just tried their toast and omlete. No facility for car parking though. Can park just one car close to their compound, on the street. There were 2 other hotels right opposite this one with facility for parking 2 or 3 cars. They seemed pretty decent, but our local contact recommended this hotel.

DAY 6: - Delhi.

Indian Port Trust Guest House, Lodi Road, Delhi.

Rate: Rs. 750 per double bed AC room.

Comments: Open only for employees of the Indian Port Trust and their guests. Comfortable and pleasant rooms. Even though we reached Delhi only by 11.30PM from Jaipur, they still had the buffet dinner set for us! Lovely! But no car parking for private cars within the compound. Have to park in the street.

DAY 7: - Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

Comments: Room was dimly lit. No lift for the upper floors. Steep staircase. Not attached with restaurant. Car parking available for 2 cars in the basement.

DAY 8: - Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Sadhana Sadhan, Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Rate: Rs. 400 per person. Non AC.

Comments: Accommodation is permitted only for Church Pastors or Fathers and their guests. Very silent, peaceful and a beautiful campus. Food is served in the dining hall and it was great. We stayed here for 2 nights.

DAY 9: - Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

DAY 10: Asansol, West Bengal.

Hotel Citi Residenci, NH 2, Asansol Nigha, Asansol, West Bengal.

Comments: The location is the biggest plus point! It is right on the highway NH 2. Just a few kilometres past the Asansol town. Excellent rooms. Attached with a decent restaurant serving superb food. Car parking available. It was a pleasant surprise for us on the highway.

DAY 11: Kolkata, West Bengal.

Rate: Rs. 600 per head.

Comments: Neat and spacious rooms. Ambience was not so great. But at this price it is worth because of the location. Breakfast included in the price. Car parking not available. Had to park to the car in the street. But it was a very safe locality.

DAY 12: - Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Paradip Port Trust Guest House, Unit 7, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Rate: Rs. 100 per double bed AC room.

Comments: Accommodation only for employees of Indian Port Trust and their guests. The rooms were extremely spacious with air conditioner and a heater in the bathroom! It is inside a beautiful campus with safe car parking and even food was included in the price! Awesome! We really enjoyed the stay here!

DAY 13: - Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.

Comments: Extremely decent hotel with amazing rooms. Restaurant attached. Car parking in the basement. Price includes a free buffet breakfast in their 24 hour coffee shop. THE BEST hotel we stayed in our entire trip. It was a fitting end to our journey!
